Glastonbury 2024: CT on-site

It’s 2am on Monday 1st July and a convoy of cars leaves Worthy Farm, Somerset, home of the world-famous Glastonbury Festival. No, these aren’t revellers leaving early in the hope of avoiding traffic. This is the Citizen Ticket team heading home to beds, showers and home-cooked meals after another successful year working at the festival.

Since first providing a bespoke scanning solution in 2019, the service we deliver to Glastonbury has grown to encompass a full H&S induction and photo-id scanning system for build & break, as well as our industry-leading fraud detection and prevention system for staff wristbands.

Our work begins on May 1st when the early crew start to arrive on site for the build. Things ramp up steadily over the next 6-7 weeks until the week before the show when the full scanning system is deployed.

Hundreds of thousands of scans later here we are, Land Rovers full of scanners, chargers and batteries, heading home for a well deserved break.
It’s tricky to write about the project in detail without revealing the inner workings of the system which, for obvious reasons, we can’t do. Suffice to say it’s a privilege to work with the UK’s most loved festival and we feel very honoured to be part of the team.
